So as many of you will already know, I am a huge Courtney Cole fan. I've read all of her books and loved them! Of Blood and Bone is no different for me.

Even though this is an adult book and Courtney's previous books have been more YA. I honest to god loved this one, I think I enjoyed it more that the entire Bloodstone Saga...and thats saying something! That series is one of my top 5 all time favourites!

Anyway enough of the fan girl gushing, Of Blood and Bone follows 29 year old Psychology student Eva as she spends the summer in Malta to finish her dissertation. Her study involves meeting lots of new people and then after follow up meetings deciding if her first impressions were right.
While in Malta there is what seems to be a rash of murdered girls, which locals are putting down to a wolf pack although Eva doesn't seem convinced and doesn't really feel safe where she is. After a few chance encounters with a very wealthy and reclusive local Luca, Eva takes him up on his offer to move into his estate to make her feel safer, but it seems that there is more to Luca than meets the eye.

I'm really trying not to write any major plot spoilers in this one, but it's hard to bare with me! As always with Courtney's books I was hooked from page one and read Of Blood and Bone in just one sitting. The worlds Courtney writes about and the imagery she uses is so life-like, it's impossible not to get wrapped up in this new world, for a few hours anyway!

I have read a few reviews on this book before writing mine and a lot of people seemed to have mixed feelings about Eva. I actually really liked her as a main character, yes she was a bit hysterical here and there, but put yourself in her shoes. I think I would be exactly the same if I was going through the same situation.
Gosh then there is Luca, super hot, super rich and superly unavailable! Just how I like my book boyfriends, haha! Seriously though, he comes across as almost the perfect man, apart from that one thing that I'm trying really hard not to talk about and spoil this review!

I loved the setting of Malta for this book. It's somewhere I've never been to and would really like to some day. I liked Courtney's descriptions of the laid back, easy lifestyle the locals live. It reminded me so much of Spanish life. I love Spain, the language, the food, the people. So it was easy for me to visualise a sleepy little town in Malta where this story unfolds.

I loved the chemistry between Luca and Eva in the book, especially at the start when they just met. Lucas kills a spider for Eva, and I thought gosh that is completely me with spiders! The two of them have a tension between them at the start and it's as if both of them aren't really too sure what is going to happen next, or even if anything should happen next between them.

Overall, I am very impressed with Of Blood and Bone. I'm don't read many adult books, mostly YA but this one is a must read on my list!
