Review: Daimon (Covenant #0.5) - Jennifer Armentrout

Daimon (Covenant, #0.5)

4/5 Stars

I'll be honest, this was a series I wasn't too sure about starting.
Some of my book blogger friends rave about how amazing this series is, and I've also read some reviews saying that it's not all that great and it's actually a lot like the Vampire Academy series.

I won a copy of Covenant in a giveaway and when it arrived it looked so short, I thought what the hell, if anything it will boost my Goodreads Challenge. Surprisingly, once I had figured out who the characters were and what was going on it was actually really good! Even though this is meant to be a prequel, I personally find that it would probably be better to read this after reading the first book, Half Blood. The characters, language and setting would probably make more sense.

Even though it took me about 40% of the book to get my head around everything and the terminology used, I did really like this quick read. It made me decide to go ahead and read the first book, and probably book two when it comes out as well.

I will probably go back and re-read this after Half Blood, the story will make more sense to me then when I know what is actually happening. But overall a really enjoyable and exciting quick read!

  1. Great review Em. I adore this series. I actually like it more than VA. I find the first half of Half-Blood similar but then it gets much more original in the second half. Book 2 has hardly no similarities at all. Jennifer is now my all time favourite author. I adore her.

  2. Glad you liked it! I adore everything JLA has written. BTW, the publisher's website has DAIMON as a free download: http://www.site.spencerhillpress.com/Freebies.html
